Tourism Surges in Western Cape

Tourist arrivals via air at Cape Town International Airport in the first half of 2023 surpassed pre-pandemic levels, with 1.4 million international two-way passengers, a 104% increase. Domestic two-way passengers also increased by 9%. The UK led as the top source market, and the European market remained the largest contributor to Cape Town's tourist arrivals.
